News update from the Nebraska Information Technology Commission


NITC Meeting

The next meeting of the Nebraska Information Technology Commission is scheduled for August 4 at 1:00 pm MDT in Chadron and videoconference sites. The agenda is posted on the NITC website.


New Commissioners
The NITC welcomes four new commissioners: Pat Flanagan, Mutual of Omaha; Lance Hedquist, City of South Sioux City; Mike Huggenberger, Great Plains Communications; and Dr. Daniel Hoesing, Superintendent Laurel-Concord, Coleridge, & Newcastle Public Schools.

Gov. Heineman & State Patrol Seek Help in Solving Missing Persons Cases
Gov. Dave Heineman joined with the Nebraska State Patrol in promoting the state’s Missing Persons Clearinghouse, an Internet Web site dedicated to helping Nebraskans find missing friends and family members.

Office of the CIO
LB 921 became law on July 14. The law provides the state Chief Information Officer with oversight responsibilities for the Division of Communications and IMServices. The new organization will be collectively called the Office of the CIO.
