Nebraska Network Study
The Nebraska
Network work
group, named by the NITC in February 2002, is nearing
completion of a feasibility study of a statewide network. The
document will be presented to the NITC at their September 16, 2002
meeting. Click here

NITC Meeting
The Nebraska Information Technology Commission will be meeting on Monday, September 16, 2002 from
1:30-4:30PM in Room 103 of the Executive Building, 521 S. 14th,
Lincoln, Nebraska. Additional videoconference sites will be open
at the Scottsbluff Panhandle Station and the Kearney Public
Library.

achievements on the high-tech front....we have a significant
foundation on which to build." The editorial cites

Workshop scheduled on applying for RUS
Community Connect broadband grant program
A workshop on preparing
applications for the RUS
Community Connect program will be offered September 24 from 2:30 to
4:00 CT at satellite downlink sites in Nebraska and via video
streaming.
Eight communities will begin IT assessment and planning
On August 29, Governor Johanns announced that
Alliance; Brown/Keya Paha/Rock Counties, Crawford-Harrison; Custer County,
Edgar; Fillmore County; West Point; and York County will be working with
Technologies Across Nebraska team members to prepare local IT
plans and to pilot toolkit materials.

E-Government Conference - September 26
The fourth annual e-government conference, Maximizing the Value of
eGovernment, will be held on Thursday, September 26. The all-day conference
will take place at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln. Click

Information Technology Related Budget Requests
As the time nears for agencies to submit their biennial budget
requests, a reminder that certain IT related budget requests -- for new or
additional spending -- require the completion of a "Project Proposal
