e-Nebraska Ambulance Rescue Service Information System (e-NARSIS). Through e-NARSIS, EMS providers can submit reports electronically. The system was created to provide an accurate, complete, timely and legible medical record. Nearly 200 EMS providers are currently using the system. Nebraska was one of the first states to submit data to the National Emergency Medical Service Information System (NEMSIS).

Statewide Trauma Data Collection System. The Statewide Trauma Data Collection System was created to gather trauma information more accurately and timely to improve performance of state trauma system and to reduce morbidity and mortality. The system allows integration of prehospital and hospital information; eliminates data redundancies and ensures patient centric data aggregation; provides secure access; and simplifies the creation of reports.

Nebraska NEDSS. Nebraska was one of the first states to participate in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System. The system provides disease surveillance and electronic laboratory reporting. All general epidemiological conditions are reported automatically to the Center for Disease Control via the NEDSS system. All twenty public health jurisdictions in Nebraska are participating in NEDSS. Additionally, five hospital laboratories are reporting electronically.

Public Health Data Mapping. The Public Policy Center has put together a comprehensive review of how public health information flows to/from community organizations (hospitals, clinics, schools, dentists, public health districts, etc.) to state and federal organizations.   The study was done as part of a HRSA Rural Network Development grant in Western Nebraska.
