History

The Community Council of the Nebraska Information Technology Commission is an advisory committee of the NITC composed of representatives from business and economic development; health care; and public libraries and local government. The Council was originally formed by Executive Order 97-7 in November 1997 to identify, prioritize, and coordinate user needs with respect to community information technology. The Community Council first met on January 30, 1998 and meets quarterly.

Charter

The Community Council has drafted a charter (PDF) that explains its responsibilities and operating procedures. A revised charter was approved by the NITC on September 18, 2007.
